Purple Pants with "Flowllors"

Here's the next installment of pants. The front side has little interest so here is a shot of the back. The fabric is nice and soft, but seems to collect a bit of anything it touches. Don't think too much of the picture either, it seems to imply the pockets are wonky and they aren't actually, it's just not lying straight :) They seem to be loved though! More on the way...

Pink Fuzzy Goodness

What could possibly be better for a little girl than elastic waisted, stretchy, fuzzy on the inside, PINK pants with a bow? I just can't quite think of anything :) I hope they fit! There might also be a second pair coming when Miss 2 year old "I like Pink!" sees them.

Recycled Pants

One of my favorite pairs of pajama pants need to be retired. The elastic was shot and the pants just fell to the floor and there was some paint around the cuffs from half a decade ago. The velvet is so very soft though and much of it was still in good condition, so they have now been through the miraculous shrinking machine (a.k.a. my sewing machine) and have become just the right size for a little four year old whose is ever so excited to be wearing what used to be Mama's pants.

This is a set of potholders that I gave as a birthday present for my dearest friend. Completely inspired by a blanket and pillow that Martha made with a two sided heavy felt which made the holes go all the way through and the turned up edges showed off the back side fabric. This is my modification for both function and materials available. The green one is my favorite :)

Birthday Crown #2

Another birthday crown for my dear little almost-four-year-old. Lover of anything pink, former lover of anything brown, and certainly a lover of anything both pretty and fun. I just hope the cat doesn't eat it as soon as the party is over!

Monkey Pants

A new pair a jammies. There are actually two, so that both girls can match. They picked the fabric out themselves which was cute and fun. The best part though is the adorable monkey sounds they make :)

Bunny Bag

So, when I first saw this bag, it reminded me of this little family of bunnies that I had as a child. A friend of the family had made them for me out of little socks and their bodies are simple little cylinders that are perfect for living in a pocket. Here is their new home.

Flower Wallet

This was a gloriously fun project to make. I have had this fabric sitting around for about a decade just waiting for a perfect place to use it. I only had a small scrap yet I just adore it so. When I saw this project in Bend the Rules Sewing, I knew I had found a match. The whole project took about an hour which is even more fun! I finished it off with a vintage button saved from my great-grandmother.

Baby in Pink

I recently made this "Heavy Baby" for the girls. There are actually two of them but only this one has clothes :) However, the clothes are always removed instantly to reveal a seam on the back of the head and the gathered fabric on the crown. Just lovely. I especially like it when people ask me if I have made one of these unclothed dolls and I have to respond "Yes, I did. They are supposed to have their hats sewn on though!" The kids love the weight of these babies, they are filled with millet and have a very loving, huggable feel to them.
